A Visit to Canada

Usually when we go to Canada to visit our sister we make it one 8 hour day of driving. This time we decided to split up the driving a bit and make a night's stop at some dear friends of ours near the Bamidji, MN area.
The night and morning spent there was very special! Lots of fellowship, games, good conversations and side aching laughter.

All the youngsters.

Passing the time before brunch with a game of Dutch Blitz.

We were all pretty sad when we had to leave.  For a while we thought we might have to stay a few extra hours because our brakes wouldn't release on the bus.
After a good fifteen minutes of waiting the sticky brakes decided to let go.

We arrived at Andrea's on Thursday, the 9th of November. Matthew and Justin joined us the following day.
It was so nice to be able to relax a little and take some time off from the craziness back at home.
We played lots of games, sat around and chatted about life, read books, and ate lots of yummy goodies from Andrea's cupboard. She fed us like kings and queens while we were there.

The guys relaxing to a game of Gobblet.

Leana LOVED her time with the aunties!!!
Here Miranda is helping her with a school project.

The girls in the kitchen busy making a Thanksgiving dinner.

It's not to often that we are all together like this. The time was SO special!

Our Thanksgivng meal was a bit rushed because we had a big concert that same evening,
a large stage at a Theatre holding around five hundred people.
If you were there you may have detected some nervous jitters from a few members of the family. ;)

Tuning up and getting ready to go.

It's show time!

Church on Sunday was held at Andrea's brother-in-laws place. They have a nice big shop there that they hold church services at. We were asked to play a few songs for the service.

After church we took a trip to Winnipeg and experienced what it's like to be locked in a room for an hour. The Real Escape!

We were to large of a group to be put into one room, so we had two groups. Neither team broke out, but we came very close to. Within seconds actually! It was a fun experience!

Monday Dad took the bus to the Huderite Colony (where Joel grew up) to work on it and get some of the minor things fixed up, one of them being the door that didn't shut properly. The bus came back tuned up and ready to go again.

Tuesday we left our sister's and traveled on to Ontario for a concert that evening. And by Wednesday afternoon we made it back home.
What a full and blessed week it was! We count it a privilege to be able to travel and sing like we do. To God be all the glory!
