Goats and Gardening

Now that I finally have some time to sit down and write I will tell ya'll what we have been up to in the past several weeks.
Justin is working full time for a asphalt company. His working schedule varies. He can start driving anywhere from 10:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. and drives for about ten hours.
I think this year has been the busiest year of music for our family. Every weekend from now until sometime in September is full of music. In the past few weeks we have sang at a numerous amount of places, picked strawberries, got together with our friends from church, cleared out and fixed our pasture for goats.
That's right! GOATS!!! For all of you who know us are probably thinking "why on earth are the Herrliger's getting goats again"? "I thought they had to sell the goats in order to do music."
Well you can put yourselves at rest in knowing that these goats are not for milking, but for eating and cleaning up our small woods. We ended up buying three of them from our neighbors. Two kids and a mama.

Mama and her kid.

We had to take this kid from her mama.

We picked 15 buckets of strawberries!

This strawberry was one of the biggest we found!

Each month our church has a event that all of us families get together for an activity. It's usually playing games as a group, singing, sports, or just time visiting.
Last month we had more of a fun farm kind of a gathering.
There was corn husking, relay races, a egg toss, and singing at night around a campfire.

Floppy rubber boot races!

Gunny sack races!

Gotcha Kara!!!

Wheelbarrow races!

Chocolate milk contest!

Each person had a cup of chocolate milk. Whoever drank their's the fastest won the contest.

Egg toss!
